~and her Name was Wilma
Here it is November and little did I know I’d be talking
hurricanes again this late in the season. The area
where I live encountered the outer bands of Wilma;
however, other than downed trees and bushes, no
other damage was sustained.
Miami-Dade County is a different
story.I still have a lot of family and friends in
South Florida and it’s incomprehensible that there’s
close to 600,000 customers without electricity, and
much of the south end of Miami will not be getting
their power back for one month! Can you imagine
living like that? Folks are leaving Miami in caravans
just to go to places where there is electricity to buy
gas. As most of stations don’t have electricity either,
they can’t dispense the gas. The Governor is
encouraging residents to drive to Tallahassee to
purchase gasoline, back-up generators, living
essentials, etc.
From all this, I received a lesson in resourcefulness
from my 95 year old, Aunt Rosa, who lives in the
Miami area where electricity is not expected for
another month. Inasmuch as I’m worried for her, as
she’s nursing a post-op hip replacement, she’s not
worried a bit. She spoke to me with the certainty of
a prophet. Is she scared? Sure she is! But she’s also
very wise and she trusts the infinite power of the
Universe.
I’ll tell you what my Aunt Rosa did: Finding herself
alone and frightened, no electricity, water or phone
lines at the time, she wheeled herself to the front
door of her apartment, and started yelling out for
help. A long while went by until someone heard her,
and then neighborly good-will came into play. My
Aunt Rosa got resourceful!
She reminded me it was more important to
be “resourceful” than to have resources. She looked
inward and found courage, and determination. She
pulled all those “inner resources” together, talked to
as many people as she could, who in turn, talked to
as many people as they could and they all
got “resourceful”~ They all found a way to get what
they wanted to meet their immediate needs in the
midst of a very difficult situation.
This is true in business as well. When you feel things
are closing in on you, when money is tight, when one
of your biggest clients is unable to pay for your
services due to circumstance outside the realm of
their control, when things are not going your way,
look inward, remember your big dream, your vision,
creativity, find your courage, your passion, your
purpose, your determination, commitment,
compassion and
GET RESOURCEFUL! Your life will forever
change and the Leader in you, will rise up and rule!
| Planning for an Outstanding 2006 |
 |
|
~
Are you ready to kick-start an awesome 2006 and
create a plan to give you exactly what you want, in
your business, in your life?
I want to get you started to finish 2005 on a high
note, and get a gigantic jump on an extraordinary
2006. A few things need to happen before you begin
to create a plan that will get you outstanding results.
First, give yourself the gift of self-reflection to help
you create the life you really want in the coming
year ahead. No successful plan can ever be created
unless you are totally “clear” about what YOU want.
What you “really, really” want!
I want to remind my readers, the following subjects
are just the tip of the iceberg. As this is a
newsletter, not a workshop; henceforth, these topics
barely touch the surface. However, I’m very
passionate and committed to getting you started
with the basics. For an in-depth Action Plan, call my
office at (386) 615-6282.
Getting Clarity:
-
What was GREAT about 2005?
-
What were three of your biggest business
accomplishments?
-
What were the three most significant lessons you
learned?
-
How are your relations with your
Partners/Employees/Customers?
-
How are things with your family, friends,
neighbors, and community?
-
What needs to change in your life?
-
What needs to change within you?
-
What empowering decisions did you make in 2005?
-
What decisions might you make next year as a
result?
Recognizing what you are capable of doing:
-
What were some past dreams, goals or desires
that you thought were difficult to achieve?
-
What steps did you take to make them
into “reality”? Yes, that’s right, you made them into
reality, didn’t you? Remember how you felt when you
got them? Keep that feeling very close to your
heart.
Feeling the Passion:
-
As clarity and ability are being established, now is
time for you to create a list of things or goals that
you would like to accomplish in the next five years.
Be sure to include ANYTHING you’ve ever thought of
that would be of importance to you. I mean
ANYTHING. Allow yourself to light up the
burning fire, so that the passion for what you want,
will get you there.
-
Look at your financial goals, personal goals, your
relationships goals, physical goals, contribution
goals. Be creative. Think of things that are very
much about YOU!
-
Once you stop writing, go through your list and
by each item, place the number of years (or months)
you want for that goal to be achieved. You can
create a list to accommodate 5 years to 20 years.
Remember, this is all about YOU!
Getting Focused:
-
Shift your ATTENTION and concentrate on those
things you absolutely want to see happen.
-
What are your top 4 goals for 2006? By
consistently focusing on what you want, you will
begin to attract it, as you will force your mind to
think of finding ways to get you exactly what you
want. Remember to identify WHY you want them as
REASON and PURPOSE are more powerful and
compelling than the actual goals or results.
Getting Committed:
-
As you get excited about kick-starting your 2006
with a lot of joy and passion, think of revising your
Business plan, refine your Marketing plan, and think
of what else can you be doing to increase sales,
clients, revenue, profits. Identify your resources,
leverage, and delegate.
-
If at all possible, diminish, bring down, or
eliminate debt.
-
Develop a sense of entitlement on everything
you wish to attain as it is yours to have. Build your
sense of self-worth, as that usually goes hand-in-
hand with your bottom-line. Above all, make a
commitment to yourself that those things you want
to attain, you will find a way to get them.
Last but not least, remember the Power of Five
(TM):
-
Passion
-
Pride
-
Purpose
-
Profits
-
Perception
Let them be your guide to a life of achievement,
fulfillment, joy and success.

| A Touch of Gratitude |
 |
|
~
As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to remind my
readers that one of the most powerful ingredients to
a successful life is “gratitude”.
Just imagine what you would be doing differently, if
each moment of the day you felt a deep sense of
gratitude for all you are, all you have and for all the
opportunities around you.
As you identify your blessings, you begin to smile
inside. Then the smile within reflects on your face,
on your lips and you begin to stand tall, shoulders
back, confidence kicks in. How do you feel now?
See, it’s happening already.
As you begin to realize you have this incredible gift
called: “Another day of your life!”, your attitude
towards the actions you choose to take every day
will shift to one of appreciation for all the tremendous
blessings you have been given. No longer will things
seem like a “drag”, they indeed will have a purpose.
Keep on smiling and be grateful for all your incredible
blessings. Make sure you tell others to be grateful as
well. If they don’t know what they need to be
grateful about, be sure to tell them! Make “gratitude”
a daily occurrence; it will make you highly successful
as it, also, becomes part of your legacy! What a
great thing to be remembered by.
Happy Daily Thanksgiving!

That is exactly what Tony Orlando did on October
16, 2005, at the new Daytona Beach Hilton Hotel on
behalf of the Stuart Meyers Hospice Foundation.
Of course you all remember Tony Orlando, don’t you?
Remember when he knocked three times on the ceiling
if you want me?
Well, he’s still on a roll and as wonderful as ever! As
a kid, I remember looking up to him with gooey eyes!
It happened all over again!
Tony Orlando reminded all of us that night of the
importance of being grateful. He spoke how Frank
Sinatra helped him kick-start his career by dreaming
big and keeping his vision clear. Tony, then,
proceeded to knock a few more times on the ceiling
of: “all things are possible, when you stay focused
on what you want”!
His show was more than just community contribution,
Tony spoke about what a great impact The Beatles
had on him; and actually did a tribute to some of
their music during the event. He then spoke of the
importance of “looking inward” and finding what you
really want in life. Tony’s message was clear: Know
what you want, focus, keep your vision, do what you
must to get it, and be grateful! Sound familiar?
Thank You, Tony!
